Pucker up, kissy face layout

I've got a layout to share with you today.  The photos are of my DD#2 when she was 7 months old.  So cute, huh?

I've gotten pretty behind on scrapping her baby photos, so I turned to the Sketch~N~Scrap blog for some help and inspiration.  I used this sketch:

Their challenges for this month end tonight at 7:00CST, so hurry over to their blog to check out this and a few other sketch challenges.  Here's the link:

"Be Awesome" card

We've been getting lots of rain over the last few days, and there's nothing to do but stay inside.  So for a little summer break crafting, I checked out the challenges over at Sketch~N~Scrap.  This is their current card sketch:

And, here's my take on it:

I turned the sketch and used EP's Anything Goes papers for a little encouraging card for my DD#1.

Recent Cards

Here are a couple cards I made for challenges on the Message Board at A Cherry On Top.  Message Board members volunteer to host challenges each month.  Some are for random prizes of gift cards to the online store!!

This first one is for a challenge to use fussy cutting.  I'd seen ideas on Pinterest to make a gate fold card like this . . .

I stamped the cake and the circle with the sentiment, then fussy cut them before adding them to my card.  I used lots of papers from We R Memory Keepers Hip Hip Hooray collection.

I got mine at A Cherry On Top online store.  You can find it here

My next card is a multi-fold card, again for a challenge.  I used some Stampin' Up! stamps for this one:

It was kind of tricky using my exacto knife to cut the inside of the window out, but I was glad I did it.  This card was for a dear friend who moved away.  We'll miss her!

Thanks for checking out my blog.  Hope to share more with you soon!

Hello Kitty Shaped Card

Just when I think I'll keep up with my blog again, I get behind again!  Well, today I checked out the blog challenge at Bitten by the Bug 2, and it was a shaped card challenge.  I needed a cutesy little girl birthday card, so I dug out my Hello Kitty Greetings Cricut cartridge.

I used the Card feature, which I haven't done before, so I'm glad I was challenged to finally try it out.  I cut my card out at 6 3/4", because I'm pretty sure I have some 5x7" envelopes.

I was glad to see that the base cut fit right on the front of the card.  You just never know when using a feature for the first time . . .

Supplies used:
Patterned paper--DCWV Kidlet Stack
Cardstock--white, pink, black from CTMH
Glitter paper--The Paper Studio
White gel pen--Sakura Gelly roll
Glue pen--Zig 2 way fine ball roller pen
Cricut cartridge--Hello Kitty Greetings

I'm entering this card in the Bitten By the Bug 2 Shaped Card Challenge.  You can find it here.

Pinterest Inspired Give Thanks Card

Well, life has been busy lately, but I've got a little crafty stuff done lately!  I host a Pinterest-inspired challenge over on the A Cherry On Top Message Board.  This month's challenge is to use this as inspiration (or participants can use their own pins):

Here's the card I made for an example:

I used lots of Cricut cuts on this one!  The wood grain embossed background piece is from Elegant Edges.  Then I used Botanicals for the wheat and Designer's calendar for the pumpkins, leaves, and sentiment.  I then cut the flowers with Straight From the Nest.  I layered it all up with some Stampin' Dimensionals and added little pearls.

I might try to do a layout based on this photo, but will have to dig for the perfect picture!

If you want to try your hand at this challenge, you can find it here.

And, the winner is chosen at random to win a $5 gift certificate to the A Cherry On Top online store!
